If you’d like to learn about weighing salt production, you have read the right article. Read on to learn more!
Salt has been mined in Hallstatt in Austria’s Salzkammergut area for over 7,000 years. Salinen Austria AG extracts a brine used for the evaporated salt production and any untreated rock salt at its mines within the Austrian Alps. The dry salt tanks, each with about 150 metric tonnes capacity, needed serious renovations.
Application and Products Utilized
Due to the size of each tank, eight load cells were used for each one. The ProfiNet interface could be used to view the weight value and the status at all times. The products used were:
- A compression load cell.
- MaxiFlexlock PR6001/01S/PR 6001/11S.
- A cable junction box PR 6130/38SA.
Benefits for the Customer
There were multiple benefits for customers. These included professional consultation during the engineering phase with simple-to-use demo equipment and robust, compact, easy-to-operate and install. Excellent transparency in the batching and weighing process was another serious benefit, as well as durable precision weighing with high corrosion resistance. It was intense even when used in the most extreme types of conditions.
The Project Goal and Its Implementation
The Salzkammergut is the oldest region in the world where salt has been produced up to the present day. Salinen Austria AG extracts the brine used for evaporated salt production and any untreated rock salt at its locations in the Austrian Alps.
