Weighing in Foundry and Steel

Weighing in Foundry and Steel

Foundries and other high-temperature industries benefit immensely from precision weighing devices designed for brutal and extreme temperatures.

Foundries and other high-temperature industries benefit immensely from precision weighing devices designed for brutal and extreme temperatures. Eilon Engineering has wireless crane scales (provided by the Scale People) available with a special foundry option package, making them suitable for both the extreme temperature environment of a foundry and the fast-paced work completed within:

  • Heat Protection: thermal fabric jackets and metal heat shields help protect the systems and extend the load cell’s working time by delaying the rise in any internal temperatures.
  • Internal thermometer: this allows for careful monitoring of your load cell temperature. The temperature warnings help the operator prevent possible damage to the load cells.
  • Averaging Displays: This reduces instability in an unstable in an unstable load or swinging ladle.

Highly accurate scales make it possible to carefully control the filling of spoons and the composition of metal throughout tall additives foundries, resulting in reduced wastage and increased efficacy. Load monitoring system sounds could also help with preventing overloading.

Ron Crane Scales Used for Foundry and Steel

Ron Crane Scales, provided by the Scale People, have earned a reputation of excellence and thousands of repeat customers with higher quality and safety requirements. For safety, they have market-leading five-year warranties and reliability. They are fatigue-rated since all Eilon Engineering load cells are fatigue-rated. These scales meet industry standards for ASME B30.26, ASME BTH-1, and IEC 61508. The scales have 0.1% accuracy, are made with aerospace steel (manufactured using high-grade steel for specifically load cell bodies), shackle holes that offset 90 degrees, which reduces bending for enhanced accuracy and safety, and proven wireless technology. These scales have a battery life of up to 2,000 hours on standard disposable batteries. They have a high transmission range; they’re portable and lightweight, heavy-duty designs with some shock-absorbing mechanisms, minimal headroom loss, multiple load cells per monitoring station, and large capacities that can be used during the weighing process.
